Júlio Monteiro worked as an interpreter in the private market since 1993, as a freelance interpreter for the European Institutions since 2000 and then as staff interpreter for the European Commission’s Directorate-General for Interpretation since 2006. He has a degree in Translation from ISLA – Instituto Superior de Línguas e Administração in Lisbon and an MA in Conference Interpreting (UAL, Lisbon).
He is the Head of the Portuguese Unit at the Directorate-General for Interpretation of the European Commission.
