Juan Carlos Jiménez Marín

Juan Carlos Jiménez Marín has been the Director-General for Logistics and Interpretation for Conferences (DG LINC) in the European Parliament since 13 January 2025. He has worked in and for the European Parliament since 1988 - as a conference interpreter until 2004, Head of Unit (German Interpretation Unit and ACI Recruitment Unit) from 2004 to 2012, and Director for Organisation and Planning from 2012 to 2020. He then became Director for Regions in the Directorate-General for External Policies of the Union (DG EXPO) in 2020, until January 2025. In this role, he was responsible for the European Parliament’s parliamentary diplomacy and, specifically, its 48 standing delegations and 5 parliamentary assemblies.

In his previous role at DG LINC, he was closely involved in inter-institutional cooperation in the field of interpretation, working with the European Commission and the Court of Justice for many years and had an active role in international cooperation as chair of a Task Force and later of a Working Group in the UN-run IAMLADP Network. He was also the Executive Secretary of the Network of Heads of Interpreting Services (HINTS).
