Johannes Lindner

Head of the Division for EU Institutions & Fora, European Central Bank (ECB) 

Johannes Lindner is Head of the Division for EU Institutions & Fora at the European Central Bank (ECB) that is coordinating the relations of the ECB with EU institutions, in particular the Council and the European Parliament. He is Member of the Jacques Delors Centre’s Advisory Board and Adjunct Faculty at the Hertie School in Berlin (since 2025), as well as Honorary Professor at Aston University in Birmingham (since 2018). From 2022 to 2025, he served as Co-Director of the Jacques Delors Centre; and he held the Henrik Enderlein Fellowship in 2022-2023. Previously, he worked in several policy areas of the ECB (since 2003). 

He studied economics and politics with master’s degrees from the London School of Economics (MSc Public Administration and Public Policy, 1998) and University of Cologne (Diplom-Volkswirt, 1999), and a doctorate degree in politics from the University of Oxford (2003) focusing on EU budgetary decision-making. Johannes has published research and policy analyses on EU topics and has been speaker on policy panels at various institutions/conferences.
