Hester Benedictus is a public policymaker in social and healthcare policy. She worked for the Dutch Social and Economic Council (SER) and for the Municipality of Amsterdam. In 2023, her team won the Amsterdam AI Hackathon’s 'most mind-blowing' category with the Lees Simpel App, which helps people with low literacy skills read and understand complex government letters. The team has also developed Schrijf Simpel, to help and inspire organisations to use plain language in the first place.
