CitizENV in Varkaus, Finland

This time, CITIZENV brings us to Savonia in Eastern Finland, an area of 524 km2 of which almost one third is water. The young Finns that our colleague Katriina met were very aware of circular economy issues, and expressed a wish to see more practical business-supporting actions that would speed the transition to a genuinely circular economy. They also discussed the urgent need to establish new certification systems to publicise the carbon and water footprints of products, and mentioned a need for obligatory “circular economy” classes from an early age – it's all about Education!
