Eric Bauwelinck

Eric Bauwelinck studied philosophy, French and Portuguese (RUCA 1985) and graduated with a degree in business translation and conference interpreting for NL/FR/EN/DE (Mercator 1989). 

Eric is the founder, owner, and Ceo of Mastervoice, specializing in conference interpreting, remote simultaneous interpreting, and multilingual communication technology. He has worked as chief interpreter on the private market for over 3,000 corporate and institutional meetings between 1990 and 2020.

Under his leadership, Mastervoice has become a primary interpreting provider for corporate and institutional clients including United Nations agencies. Eric participated in various academic and professional innovation panels on interpreting technology through guest lectures, publications and advisory work for science hubs and leadership councils.

His current work focuses on the development and critical assessment of human and automated speech platforms, remote interpreting workflows, and language innovation for multilingual meetings, with particular attention to the evolving relationship between professional human interpreting and emerging automated speech technologies.
