BiographyElli Tsiforou joined the COPA-COGECA as Secretary General in September 2024. An expert in agricultural policy, with over 20 years of experience advocating for the Greek and EU agricultural sector, she has served for 5 years on the Board of Directors at GAIA EPICHEIREIN SA, first as Director General and later as CEO, overseeing the organisation’s strategy, policy, and communication initiatives. Her experience includes a decade of involvement with COPA and COGECA as representative of the Greek member organizations, leading EU-level advocacy actions on agricultural policy and the digital transition of the sector. As Chairwoman of the Cooperative Coordination Committee (CCC) of COGECA (2020-2024), she played a crucial role in promoting the cooperative model and facilitating discussions among EU agricultural cooperatives. Elli Tsiforou holds degrees in Communication & Media from Greece (BSc) and France (MSc) and has served in several high-profile policy roles, including as a policy advisor at the European and Hellenic Parliaments and Head of Cabinet to the Greek Minister of Culture and Tourism. She is fluent in Greek, English, French, and Italian.
