CloseThis event has ended. A revision of the current EU rules on gas and hydrogen (Gas Directive 2009/73/EC and Gas Regulation (EC) No 715/2009) is needed to ensure that the gas market framework contributes to the 2030 energy and climate targets and to achieve a climate-neutral EU by 2050. The revised rules should also include the measures outlined in the respective strategies for hydrogen and energy system integration. In addition to the roadmap on the inception impact assessment (published in February) and the public consultation, that is still open for feedback until 18 June 2021, the Commission invites stakeholders to attend this workshop to gather their views of a broad range of aspects, such as: building hydrogen market integrated infrastructure planning access of renewable and low-carbon gases to the gas networks and markets the gas quality regulatory framework The Commission will also provide an update on the legislative proposal on energy-related methane emissions and gather stakeholders’ views. energy policy | energy efficiency | energy union Tuesday 18 May 2021, 10:00 - 17:30 (CEST)Online only Practical information WhenTuesday 18 May 2021, 10:00 - 17:30 (CEST)WhereOnline onlyLanguagesEnglishOrganisersDirectorate-General for Energy Related links Hydrogen and decarbonised gas market packageEnergy system integrationHydrogenMethane emissions
