CloseThis event has been rescheduled.New date: 19 October 2020. The focus of this one-day TEW will be translation in the domain of food, which is a driver of Italian economy. The debate will involve world-renowned food industries based in Parma, such as Barilla, Parmigiano Reggiano and Parma ham consortia, universities, professional translators, cultural players and institutions (EC and EFSA) to underline the added value of translation for stakeholders and the general public. Topics will include: value added of translation for the economy and society terminological challenges relating to the food sector translation needs: the industry perspective Background information: Parma is the ideal location for this workshop, because it is the Italian capital of food, since food companies famous worldwide have their headquarters there, and in 2020 it will also be the Italian Capital of Culture. The town hosts top world events on food, like the UNESCO World Forum on “Culture and Food” (12-13 September 2019), and Cibus fair, the largest showcase of made-in-Italy food, which is scheduled from 11 to 14 May 2020, right after the workshop. It also hosts the European Food Safety Agency and offers unique university degree courses in the domain of food management.
