Subtitling translation – between science and art

Aim: Raising general awareness of the role of science and translators in the field of subtitling. Strengthening ties with the only EMT member in the country and with several industry players who are or might become DGT's partners in the future.

This half-a-day TEW will feature the first public presentation of National guidelines for subtitling in Slovenia (nationwide project of Slovenian Association of Film and Television Translators in cooperation with other stakeholders). Followed by general highlighting of characteristics and challenges of subtitling translations. Unique opportunity for sharing views of variety of stakeholders. The proposed TEW is good opportunity to raise awareness of the role of science and translators in the field of subtitling, and to enable networking of many important stakeholders.
