It follows the first stakeholder workshop that assisted in gathering evidence for undertaking the fitness check. In line with the Commission's general principles and standards, a variety of consultation tools have been used to collect the views of a range of stakeholders. During the workshop, these emerging findings will be presented and discussed. The aim of the workshop is to receive final feedback from stakeholders to assist in the completion of the evaluation. Please note that a summary of these preliminary findings is available below. It is expected that the stakeholder workshop will be attended by approximately 250 participants. Participants should include national, regional and local governments, environmental and other public bodies, representatives of the business and trade organisations, civil society, international organisations, academia and the research community.During the public consultation underpinning the fitness check of the EU ambient air quality directives, stakeholders had the opportunity to contribute by filling out an online questionnaire via EU Survey. The responses to this questionnaire were taken into account in the evaluation. Please find further information on this public consultation here. Detailed information on the fitness check and its consultation strategy is also available on DG ENV's website. Please note that this stakeholder workshop is part of the fitness check of the EU Ambient Air Quality Directives undertaken by the European Commission. This fitness check is looking at the performance and evaluated the implementation of the two complementary EU Ambient Air Quality Directives (Directives 2008/50/EC and 2004/107/EC). These Directives set air quality standards and requirements to ensure that Member States adequately monitor and/or assess air quality on their territory, in a harmonised and comparable manner. The fitness check is also considering the corresponding Implementing Decision 2011/850/EC and Commission Directive EU/2015/1480.A detailed agenda of the workshop will be available to download shortly.
