Description
The objective of the Conference on the Future of Europe is to give new impetus to European construction and bring Europe closer to its citizens. In this context, the issues of security and defence are fundamental. If the EU is to become a global geopolitical actor, as Commission president Ursula von der Leyen has told the European Parliament, strengthening the common security and defence policy will be essential.
The conference is under the patronage of the European Commission with the participation of Commissioner Thierry Breton.
