In San Sebastian, Jesús met a group of 47 highly motivated young people. Their wish is to create networks to raise awareness, and mobilise efforts to create a better environment. They recommended prioritising education, the fight against plastics, positive marketing (“we are all part of the change”) and stricter EU regulations and enforcement, with sanctions to match. The groups were in favour of stopping perverse incentives like greenwashing campaigns, and stressed the importance of the 3Rs: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Every action counts, they said, determined to practise what they preach.
