The BT Young Scientists' Exhibition is a national competition for young people over 3 days (10-12 January 2019). 550 projects from schools across Ireland were entered.
The event is far more than a competition, attracting over 40,000 people, and making it one of the largest gatherings of its kind in Europe.
The Representation organised an EU stand which acted as a great venue for a Citizens' Dialogue over the course of the event.
The discussions were intense and engaged throughout, not only with young people, but also with teachers, parents, scientists and the media. The main topics were Brexit and its impact on Ireland; the Future of Europe; and Education, science and opportunities for young people in the EU.
The Representation used the event as an opportunity to promote the 'EUandME' and 'ThisTimeImVoting' campaigns, working in co-operation with colleagues in the European Parliament Liaison Office.
