Approximately 100 students, (mostly) Law and European Studies undergraduates, participated.HoR Sofia Colares Alves touched upon the European Green Deal, the digital packaged (which had been released the previous day) and the next steps on the migration agenda. On stage as well, was Professor of European Studies at the University of Coimbra Isabel Camisão, who specified the role of the Commission in the EU’s institutional architecture.A very lively debate followed. The audience engaged very positively and demonstrated a deep knowledge on European affairs.The issues of greater concern included:The feasibility of implementing the Green Deal, in particular the Just Transition Fund´s effectiveness on requalifying and protecting workers in polluting industries.The digital literacy rates of the European population how older, poorer citizens may be disproportionally affected.How will the EU structure data protection with data pooling, and how to promote adequately “European tech champions”.
