The event was organised by the European Commission Representation in Ireland with support from Waterford EDIC. The speakers were Siobhán Rudden from the Southern Regional Assembly; Gerard Arthurs from Waterford Institute of Technology; and Senan Cooke of Dunhill Ecopark. Johnathan Claridge, Head of Communications at the European Commission Representation in Ireland, moderated the event.The event opened with a screening of six short films developed by the #EUandME Young Filmmakers Competition. Each explored some of the key contemporary challenges facing young people in Europe.The screening also featured a promotional video, associated with the Commission Representation’s recent, What’s the Story?: 25 Stories About Ireland and the EU publication, that highlights the role of the EU in helping to create a local environmental/community scheme called Dunhill Ecopark. The event functioned as the formal Waterford launch for What’s the Story.The screening was followed by a panel discussion and audience debate. An engaged and enthusiastic audience, composed principally of younger people, posed a diverse selection of challenging and thought- provoking questions to the panellists.
