On 24 January Juozas Balčikonis and the 5th gymnasiums in Panevėžys hosted Citizens' Dialogues with Arnoldas Pranckevičius, Head of EC Representation in Lithuania, in framework of Back to School initiative.
Mr Pranckevičius spoke about various EU-related issues and answered questions from the audience.
The lively and informative discussion with an audience made up of the final years' schoolchildren from touched upon a wide range of issues such as the details of the Brexit process, the EU's 'existential crisis' in 2016 and the lessons learned, issues of populism and the EU's recent successes.
As the Citizens' dialogue took place in relation with Back to School initiative, Mr Pranckevičius presented his life experiences and challenges as an example for students.
He also encouraged young people to take the initiative in their lives and to have confidence not only in themselves, but to cultivate trust in others.
