He also emphasised the importance of EU funds to financing Member States' actions.Among major challenges to be faced by the Community are the migration crisis, threats from EU’s neighbourhood and consequences of Brexit, also due to reduced inflows into the common budget with simultaneous increase in expenses.The future financial perspective stipulates, among others, increased expenditures on the defence industry, B+R and innovation in order to support the development of entrepreneurship.Additionally, the multiannual budget includes improved funding for Erasmus+, a programme frequently asked about during the meeting.Participants, in particular wanted, to know more about the difference between the present and the future financial perspective. Finally, they also asked about the chances of and barriers to EU accession by countries such as Ukraine and Turkey, and about the possible threats associated with the increasing number of concerns as to the rule of law in Poland.The Citizens' Dialogue was closed with a statement about how important EU funds are in solving economic and social problems.
