5th European Nuclear Safety Conference

The conference will take place under the auspices of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG).

 The conference will take place under the auspices of the European Nuclear Safety Regulators Group (ENSREG). One of the key topics of the conference is the conclusion and the follow-up of the first Topical Peer Review (TPR), which focused on ageing management of nuclear installations; this exercise was introduced by the amended nuclear safety directive in 2014 and takes place every six years.

Other important topics include decommissioning and waste management, standardisation of supply chain and component obsolescence, and knowledge management.

ENSREG is an independent expert advisory group, in which all EU Member States are represented by senior officials from their national regulatory authorities or nuclear safety authorities. Senior representatives of the European Commission are also part of the group. In addition, the Council of the European Union, Switzerland, Norway, and the International Atomic Energy Agencyhave observer status in ENSREG.
