Norway is a strategic energy partner for the EU, and a major supplier of oil, gas and electricity. Norway is a member of the European Economic Area (EEA), and participates as a full member in the internal energy market.

The 4th EU-Norway Energy Conference “Working together for a successful energy transition” will be hosted by Miguel Arias Cañete, Commissioner for Climate Action and Energy and Kjell Børge Freiberg, Norwegian Minister of Petroleum and Energy in Brussels. The discussion themes will include the role of natural gas in Europe’s energy transition and decarbonisation in industry.

A side event is being organised in the afternoon by the Norwergian Ministry of Petroleum and energy, addressing the role of carbon capture and storage in deep decarbonisation
