Denislava Simeonova

Denislava Simeonova is a cybersecurity awareness and communication expert, currently member of the Cybersecurity Awareness team in the IT department of the European Parliament. 

After launching the first cybersecurity awareness campaign at the European Commission in 2015, Denislava worked on building the cybersecurity education programmes in the Commission and the Parliament. She has been active member of the inter-institutional cybersecurity awareness community, sharing knowledge and organising the kick-off events for the Cybersecurity month. Denislava has experience in introducing innovative campaigns and gamified learning experience for employees, as well as in supporting and promoting women in cybersecurity. 

Previously, she has been a valued member of the Communication and CRM teams in the Commission and the Parliament contributing to the digital transformation of both institutions. Before joining the EU institutions, she has worked for more than 15 years on media and digital projects in the private and NGO sectors in Bulgaria. 

Denislava has a Master’s degree in International Relations and is an alumnus of the CyberWayFinder program for professionals, transitioning to cybersecurity.
