Cristina Valentini is the Head of the Terminology Unit in the PCT Translation Division of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), Geneva. She obtained a PhD in languages, cultures and intercultural communication from the University of Bologna in 2009. She has been working at WIPO since 2010, where her main tasks involve designing and developing terminology resources (WIPO Pearl) and guidelines, managing terminology workflow, and designing and coordinating terminology projects. Since 2016, she has been participating as a WIPO expert in the activities of ISO Technical Committee (TC) 37 ‘Language and Technology’, and, more recently, TC 37/SC 3/WG 6 ‘Terminology Management and Artificial Intelligence’. She is the author of several conference papers and articles on terminology.
