BiographyCarsten Volkery is an EU correspondent for Germany’s business daily Handelsblatt. He covers financial and economic policy. Previously, he spent five years in London reporting on Brexit and the banking sector. Carsten joined Handelsblatt in 2017 from German weekly Der Spiegel where he has worked as a correspondent and editor in New York, London, Berlin and Hamburg. Major topics in his journalistic career included the aftermath of 9/11, the financial crisis and the Euro crisis.
