The European Research Council Executive Agency (ERCEA) implements the European Research Council (ERC) funding programme, which supports frontier research across all fields of science.
Over the 2021–2027 period, the ERCEA manages a substantial budget under the Horizon Europe framework programme, dedicated to funding excellent, investigator-driven research. This includes support for individual researchers through ERC grants, covering all career stages and research domains.
In addition to managing the current programme, the Agency oversees the implementation of grants from previous framework programmes and ensures the continuity of ongoing projects. The ERCEA is responsible for the operational, financial, and administrative management of the ERC, contributing to the delivery of EU research and innovation priorities.
