This evaluation was concluded in September 2021 and represents the first example of a joint evaluation of two Macro-Financial Assistance (MFA) operations combined. The major objective of the ex-post evaluation of MFA is to learn key lessons, which can be applied to future MFA interventions and/or the possible need for a reorientation of the present approach. The evaluation assessed the effects of the MFA II operations provided by the European Union (EU) to Tunisia and Jordan over the period 2016 - 2019. Given regional similarities, overlapping implementation timeframes and comparable conditionality, the joint evaluation analysed key similarities, differences and patterns across the two interventions, including their regional impact in the EU’s SouthernNeighbourhood.
