Responsibilities
The Directorate-General for Trade and Economic Security (DG TRADE) develops and carries out the Commission's policies on trade and economic security.
The mission of this Commission department is to pursue and promote open, rules-based trade between the EU and non-EU countries. EU trade with the rest of the world creates and supports jobs in Europe, and it benefits European businesses, farmers and consumers. The EU's trade policies help to reduce our economic dependencies on non-EU countries and to prevent disruption to global supply chains – thereby helping to increase the EU's economic security.
Leadership and organisation
Transparency
As part of the Commission's commitment to transparency, Commission staff holding management functions publish information on and minutes of all meetings they hold with interest representatives.
