The purpose of Amending Budget (AB) No 1 for the year 2020 is to provide, in commitment appropriations, EUR 350,0 million to meet the needs resulting from the increased migration pressure in Greece, EUR 115,0 million to provide an urgent response to prevent a further deterioration of the COVID-19 outbreak and EUR 100,0 million to support post-earthquake reconstruction in Albania. Other minor adjustments are also proposed for the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the European Public Prosecutor’s Office, the European Court of Auditors and the Ombudsman.
Overall, the reinforcements proposed in this AB amount to EUR 567,4 million in commitment appropriations and EUR 77,4 million in payment appropriations.
