The evaluation of 300 SwafS proposals is ongoing

The last SwafS call received 308 proposals, 56% more than last year. Citizens Science is the topic growing the most in number of proposals. For all the 13 topics combined there is a total budget of 62.50 million. Applicants will know the results in July.

The last Science with and for Society (SwafS) call received 308 proposals, 56% more than last year (197). This call includes 13 topics.

The topic Science Education remains the most popular with the biggest number of proposals (93). Meanwhile, Citizen Science is the topic with the biggest growth in number of proposals with 78 compared to 33 last year.

The Research Executive Agency sees an evolution in the number of applicants coming from outside the EU. With applicants from 85 different countries, from continents right across the globe including Asia, Australia, Africa, South and North America.

The evaluation was launched last week and applicants will be informed of the results in July.

SwafS, managed by the Research Executive Agency, aims to build effective cooperation between science and society ensuring that societal actors work together during the entire research process. SwafS counts with a total budget of €462 million in Horizon 2020.
