Support to the Turkish Cypriot community

About the programme

The Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community (TCc) aims to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus. It is based on Council Regulation (EC) No 389/2006 and delivers assistance under the following objectives:

  • Developing and restructuring of infrastructure
  • Promoting social and economic development
  • Fostering reconciliation, confidence building measures, and support to civil society
  • Bringing the TCc closer to the EU
  • Preparing the TCc to implement EU acquis upon settlement

The Aid Programme is of an exceptional, transitional and temporary nature. The Multiannual Financial Framework provides a multi-annual perspective to the Aid Programme with a provision for stable, annual funding.
