The EU strategy on offshore renewable energy published in November 2020 emphasises the importance of cooperation at European and regional level for the development of offshore renewable energies. In this context, the Commission organises this on-line conference to bring together representatives from various EU country ministries and selected stakeholders to share experiences, with a vision to reach an installed capacity of 60 GW of offshore wind and 1 GW of ocean energy in the EU by 2030.

The event opens with a keynote speech from the Commissioner for energy, Kadri Simon, followed by 3 panel sessions

  • investments
  • public engagement and permitting
  • infrastructure and grid planning

Are you a European civil servant working on offshore renewable energy in one of your national ministries? Then you are welcome to join the event on 12 October. Update 7 October: registration is now closed.
