In the Hungarian Recovery and Resilience Plan) The objective of the investment is to allow for the secure and flexible integration of energy produced from renewable sources into the electricity grid. The investment (EUR 415 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility) to be carried out by the distribution system operators and the transmission system operator will allow to connect additional electricity capacities of up to almost 3,000 MW to the grid, produced from renewable energy sources. The projects are composed of thousands of smaller and larger development elements and include high/medium/low voltage network construction and upgrades, new substation installations, substation transformer replacements and expansions, constructions and replacement of controls, as well as digitalisation developments. The grant contracts have been signed and the advance payments to the recipients have been made. Full Implementation is expected by 2026. More information can be found on the website of the operator here Support for the use of residential solar panels and heating modernisation (reference C6.I2. In the Hungarian Recovery and Resilience Plan) With the objective of upscaling residential renewable energy production, this investment (EUR 471 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility) supports the solar panel installations of almost 35,000 households with a below-average income across the country. About a third of these households will receive support for heating modernisation, window replacement and energy storage facilities, in addition to the solar panels. More than 35,000 applicants were accepted in the first call for proposals and the prefinancing is in progress. Hungary plans to launch an additional call for proposals still in 2023. The implementation of the investment is expected to be completed in the second quarter of 2026. More information can be found on the website of the authority here Remote health monitoring programme for the elderly (reference C8.I3. in the Hungarian Recovery and Resilience Plan) The objective of the investment (EUR 229 million from the Recovery and Resilience Facility) is to provide remote health surveillance services for elderly people above the age of 65. The investment is also expected to help the de-institutionalisation of long-term care. For this purpose, different actions are being taken: First, the entry into operation of dispatching services, which shall organise telemedicine services and emergency care for the participants among elderly people above 65. This system will allow participants to place a GSM-based personal emergency call to a 24-hour service. The dispatching service staff shall be experienced in emergency care services. Second, at least 1.5 million elderly people above 65 shall be equipped with wearable sensory devices. A dedicated service will provide 24-hour surveillance and will be reachable in case of medical emergency. The implementation of the investment shall be completed by 31 December 2025.
