Programmes at the intersection of language and technology are not easy to find for (future) students and there is a shortage of graduates to meet the demand of the labour market.
Therefore the local office of the Directorate General for Translation in the Netherlands (DGT Field Office) launched a campaign in 2020 to increase the visibility of these programmes and the labour market prospects of students.
As a first step, a list of the relevant training courses has been made. The list was updated in 2022 with training courses in Belgium.
In the framework of this campaign, the DGT Field Office in the Netherlands organises a series of Translating Europe workshops to show students the many study and career opportunities in the field of language technology and to connect them with each other and with potential employers.
The next workshop in this series will take place on 9 February 2023: 'What will the language professional of tomorrow do?’
