Today, the Commission has launched discussions with the two Cypriot communities in Cyprus about the results of an EU-funded pre-feasibility study concerning the possible establishment of the first-ever bi-communal solar power plant in Cyprus.
Commissioners Hahn and Ferreira participate in ministerial meeting to discuss challenges and common actions for European Public Administrations
Today, Commissioner for Budget and Administration Johannes Hahn and Commissioner for Cohesion and Reforms Elisa Ferreira are in Ghent to participate in a ministerial meeting within the framework of the European Public Administration Network (EUPAN), organised by the Belgium Presidency of the Council
The Directorate-General for Structural Reform Support (DG REFORM) coordinates and provides tailor-made technical support to EU Member States, in cooperation with the relevant Commission services. The support is primarily provided through the Technical Support Instrument (TSI). The goal is to support Member States’ efforts to design and implement resilience-enhancing reforms, thereby contributing to the EU’s recovery from the COVID-19 crisis, improving the quality of public services and getting back on the path of sustainable and inclusive growth.
In addition, DG REFORM coordinates the Commission's efforts to support the process led by the United Nations for the reunification of Cyprus. DG REFORM is also responsible for the implementation of the EU Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community and for monitoring the Green Line Regulation.
Furthermore, DG REFORM is the Commission’s lead service for the broad and crosscutting topic of public administration and governance. The DG coordinates the implementation of the Commission’s actions for Enhancing the European Administrative Space, in response to the the challenges they face. The Expert Group on Public Administration and Governance is a platform to facilitate the dialogue between the Commission and representatives of the Member States.
The Commission’s Quality Administration Toolbox provides a reference and resource by pointing readers to existing EU policies and international practices in the field of public administration and governance.
