The renovation of the Volkskundemuseum Wien and the Prater Ateliers aims to combine their cultural mission with environmentally conscious monument protection and preservation of historical buildings.
Funding by the Recovery and Resilience Facility (EUR 35m) will contribute to a significant increase in the energy efficiency of both buildings.
The renovation works for the Prater Ateliers started in November 2023 and are expected to be completed end of 2024. The handover to the artists will be in spring 2025.
The start of the construction wirk for the Volkskundemuseum Wien is scheduled for November 2024 and completion for mid 2026.
