The project aims to support the transition and adoption of the electronic identity card (e-ID card) for Romanian citizens. The e-ID card will store two digital certificates: one which will make possible the authentication for using public administration online services and an optional one for the qualified electronic signature issued by qualified certification service providers." The Government Ordinance regarding the electronic identity card has been adopted and is enforced. The implementation of the investment shall be completed by 30 June 2026.
