A public sector retrofit pathfinder project. Kilcairn Government Offices, Co Meath.

The building's facade has been redesigned to eliminate the need for energy-intensive air conditioning, significantly reducing future operational energy requirements.

The base electrical demand is now fully met by renewable photovoltaic panels, and heat pumps have been installed to power a new, highly efficient heating system. Environmental considerations were meticulously integrated into the project, with compliance with all requirements concerning building materials, waste management, and the recycling and reuse of waste materials.

Additionally, swift nesting boxes have been incorporated into the facade, equipped with an internal cavity and specially sized entrances to support swift colonies.

A special speaker system has also been installed to attract birds to their new homes.
