Copyright: Web Sa Granja Sa Granja, a century-old experimental agricultural farm in Maó, will receive three million euros from the NextGenerationEU funds to transform into Sa Granja Rural Lab, an international reference center in sustainable agriculture. The project encompasses two main lines of work: the integration of agricultural and energy transition uses and the empowerment and digitalization of rural areas. Within the framework of Sa Granja Rural Lab, existing facilities will be adapted to accommodate new training programs in landscaping and rural environments, specialized training in organic agriculture and livestock, and university-level studies. It will serve as a research center for testing agricultural innovations in real-world settings, as a meeting point for agricultural collectives, and as a rural manufacturing and co-creation laboratory.
