The first Once-Only Technical System (OOTS) Projectathon took place this April

From 19-21 April, the first OOTS Projectathon brought together 16 EU Member States in Brussels in a marathon of peer-to-peer interoperability testing.

According to Once-Only Principle, the citizens should not be forced to provide information to authorities if another authority already holds that information in electronic format. OOTS will also ease administrative burden on companies, with resource savings even greater for smaller companies with more limited resources.

To support the Member States in the implementation of the Once-Only Principle, the OOTS team from the Directorate-General for Informatics is organising three projectathons in 2023. A projectathon is a crucial step in the development, testing and deployment into production of the OOTS components that underpin a national Once-Only implementation.

The first projectathon took place this April. Over the three days the Once-Only team has, together with the Member States representatives and neutral experts, conducted a series of test. The goal was to find potential technical and operational issues that the Member States might face and work together on solving them.
