Biography
Ms. Lahbib is the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Affairs and Foreign Trade and the Federal Cultural Institutions of Belgium since July 2022.
She worked as a journalist at the French speaking public broadcaster RTBF from 1993 to 2022. Between 2000 and 2009, she was a Special Envoy and reporter in the Middle East, Chad, Morocco,and Afghanistan. She also presented daily news and various cultural, societal and political programs.
In 2021-2022, she was asked to lead Brussels 2030, the project preparing Brussels’ candidature for the title of European Capital of Culture in 2030.
She is a graduate in Journalism and Communication from the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
