About the programme
The Aid Programme for the Turkish Cypriot community (TCc) aims to facilitate the reunification of Cyprus. It is based on Council Regulation (EC) No 389/2006 and delivers assistance under the following objectives:
- Developing and restructuring of infrastructure
- Promoting social and economic development
- Fostering reconciliation, confidence building measures, and support to civil society
- Bringing the TCc closer to the EU
- Preparing the TCc to implement EU acquis upon settlement
The Aid Programme is of an exceptional, transitional and temporary nature. The Multiannual Financial Framework provides a multi-annual perspective to the Aid Programme with a provision for stable, annual funding.
