The PCI Energy Days is a policy conference and exhibition dedicated to the practical implementation of Projects of Common Interest. After two years, the event resumed on 19 and 20 September in Brussels.

This year’s edition of the PCI Energy Days was anchored in a particular geopolitical and legislative context. Russia’s unprovoked invasion of Ukraine and the joint response from the European Union in the framework of the REPowerEU plan reconfirmed the enabling role of our infrastructure policy in diversifying away from Russian fossil fuels, whilst achieving the European Green Deal objectives.

The timely entry into force in June of the revised Trans-European Energy Networks Regulation (TEN-E Regulation) and the expected completion in 2022 of several key Projects of Common Interest (PCIs), co-financed under the Connecting Europe Facility, create an opportunity to recall the unique role played by the TEN-E policy in interconnecting EU countries’ energy networks, whilst integrating renewable energies and increasing security of supply.

The event provided project promoters with the opportunity of showcasing their projects and sharing their experience on how to accelerate the development and construction of key PCIs for the achievement of our energy and climate goals.

This year’s agenda also featured two “PCI Garden talks” in the exhibition area (see floor plan). The talks gave selected PCI Garden exhibitors the opportunity to debate with peers.
