Organised by the Directorate-General for Justice and Consumers, the European Forum on the rights of the child is an annual conference that provides a platform for dialogue between EU institutions and other stakeholders on the rights of the child.
From 27 to 29 September, more than 300 experts connected from all over the world to participate in an online, interactive event, with some speakers and children present in Brussels, under the theme of this 14th edition: Bringing children at the centre: Empowering, protecting and including children”. A special focus was given to child participation, key actions and next steps under the EU Strategy on the Rights of the Child, children in conflicts, while launching the consultation on on-going and future initiative under the EU Strategy, notably on integrated child protection systems.
Participants included children and young people, national authorities and policymakers, judicial and child protection practitioners, ombudspersons for children, independent experts, international and non-governmental organisations, academics, EU institutions and agencies.
