The European Commission presents its work through various widely-used social media channels. We invite you to contribute to conversations on our accounts and to share our content.
Social media moderation policy
We are pleased to see different views and opinions expressed, but we will not accept comments that are either offensive in nature in themselves or clearly offensive to other users.
We ask you to avoid inflammatory, insulting or offensive language. Please show respect to fellow users and the fundamental principles we all share. We say no to racism, no to xenophobia, and no to discrimination based on religion, ethnic origin, gender, sexual orientation, and so on. We accept no calls to violence.
We would also like to ask you to post comments that stick to the subject of our posts. You can share links to other pages, but please don't post link-only comments.
Spam will not be tolerated. We reserve the right to moderate all the comments that don't respect these guidelines.

The European Commission uses social media to present its work through these widely used channels.
You can access the European Commission accounts on social media platforms directly from our website.
To protect your privacy, the social media buttons on our website pages that lead to external social media channels do not set cookies when you are visiting our website pages on your devices, nor will you be immediately redirected to social media or other websites. If you click to redirect to an external social media channel or website, you may be asked by those platforms to accept their cookie preferences.
Each social media channel has their own policy on the way they process your personal data when you access their sites. For example, if you choose to watch one of our videos on YouTube, you will be asked for explicit consent to accept YouTube cookies; if you look at our Twitter activity on Twitter, you will be asked for explicit consent to accept Twitter cookies; the same applies for our presence on LinkedIn, Facebook, Instagram and Spotify.

Commission initiatives on social media
We often launch initiatives to engage with people across Europe and the world.
#AskThePresident is a unique opportunity to ask your question to President Ursula von der Leyen. Online questions should be submitted in video format (max 30 seconds) through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or email. Questions will be selected based on the quality of the video and relevance of the question, for a recorded Q&A session with the President.
Participants under 18 years old require written parental authorisation submitted along with the video.
Any questions about space and how it helps tackle the most pressing challenges we face? Join our #SpaceChat. Online questions should be submitted in video format (max. 30 seconds) through Facebook, Instagram, Twitter or email. Questions will be selected based on the quality of the video and relevance of the question, for a live chat with President von der Leyen and Matthias Maurer. Participants under 18 years old require written parental authorisation submitted along with the video.
