In a nutshell
European businesses are the driver of the European economy. To make sure they continue to thrive in an increasingly competitive global market, the EU budget acts as catalyst for other partners to support the EU economy.
The InvestEU programme is the latest in a long line of successful EU programmes to support economic growth, job creation and well-being across the EU. The programme consists of three building blocks: the InvestEU Fund, the InvestEU Advisory Hub and the InvestEU Portal.
By using guarantees from the EU budget to crowd in other investors – private or public - the InvestEU Fund gives a boost to investment in the EU.
The role of the EU budget
The InvestEU Fund aims to mobilise more than €372 billion of public and private investment through an EU budget guarantee of €26.2 billion that backs the investment of implementing partners such as the European Investment Bank (EIB) Group and other financial institutions.
More details – results achieved
By May 2023, €11.1 billion of the maximum EU Guarantee amount of the InvestEU fund had been approved to fund 88 InvestEU operations across the EU with the help of 11 implementing partners.
The InvestEU Portal brings together investors and project promoters on a single EU-wide platform, by providing an easily-accessible and user-friendly database of investment opportunities available within the EU. Many companies across the European Union have already received funding. Find more about InvestEU operations here.
