Biography
Silvia Amaro is a General Assignments TV Reporter for CNBC in London, covering European politics, economics and financial markets. She is a regular contributor to CNBC’s digital platforms too and has covered key events such as Brexit, Europe’s energy crisis, and G-20 and NATO meetings.
In addition to her daily breaking news coverage, she has done several short documentaries on climate change, Chinese investments in Europe, and the impact of the coronavirus pandemic on retail and tourism. She has also hosted panels and moderated conversations with the European Central Bank, International Monetary Fund, among others.
Silvia Amaro was awarded CFA ‘UK Broadcast Journalist of the Year’ in 2021 for her report on “How to fix rising inequality during Covid-19.” Amaro graduated from City University, London.
