Information on the exchange of good practice seminars and links to previous events and discussion papers, summary reports and comments papers.

  • In November 2013, France hosted a seminar on reconciliation of work and family life. France presented several good practices in the field of parenting: A website informing about child care facilities, the French system of child-minders and the use of service vouchers to regulate personal and home-aid services.   • In June 2013, Estonia hosted a seminar on Equal Pay Days. Three different approaches to organising Equal Pay Days were under review: In Estonia the organisation of the event is carried out by a NGO. In Belgium the trade unions promote the day and in Spain the state is responsible for the organisation. The documents related to the exchange are available here.
  • In April 2013, Spain hosted a seminar to discuss measures to fight violence against women. Spain and Ireland described their actions aimed at providing victims' support, using ICT and treatment programmes for perpetrators. The documents related to the exchange are available here.
  • In October 2012, Portugal hosted a seminar on Gender training in education. The practices presented included the Portuguese “Educational Guides Gender and Citizenship”, the Spanish online training course “Coeducation: Two sexes in one world” and two examples from Denmark focussing on children and youth.   • In May 2012, Norway hosted a seminar focusing on ways to increase the number of women in economic decision making positions. While Norway described its policy on mandatory gender quotas on corporate boards, the UK and Denmark presented their actions in the field, focusing on voluntary mechanisms by companies.   • In February 2012, the UK hosted a seminar to discuss awareness raising activities to fight violence against women and girls. The UK and Greece presented their actions in the field. The documents related to the exchange are available here.
  • In December 2011, Germany hosted a seminar on ways of reducing the gender pay gap. Germany presented its Logib-D project and Austria outlined their company income reports. The documents related to the exchangeare available here.
  • In October 2011, The Netherlands hosted a seminar on flexible working time arrangements. The good practice discussed was the Dutch Nieuwe Werken (New Forms of Work). The programme is supporting the diffusion of flexible work patterns in order to increase working time, especially among women, and to facilitate the work-life balance for women and men.   • In May 2011 a seminar was held in Belgium focussing on the implementing gender mainstreaming. Two good practices were reviewed: one by the host country Belgium and the other by Sweden. The documents related to the exchange are available here.
  • A first set of good practice exchange seminars took place in 2008 and 2009 on childcare, parental leave, gender roles, and gender based violence. The documents related to the exchange seminars are available here.
