Seismological data network development

Croatia is in a highly active seismic area. Recent devastating earthquakes have emphasised the need for investments into seismological equipment as well as the need to strengthen the capacity of the seismic service to increase the quality of the collection, processing, and application of the seismic data.

335 units of new seismic equipment have been purchased as part of the investment (EUR 11 million). This equipment will carry out data monitoring, processing and analysis relating to seismic activities in Croatia. The investment also covers hiring and training of experts for using the equipment and data for data processing.

This investment will be completed by the end of June 2026.
