Plan for nurseries and preschools and early childhood education and care services (Mission 4 – Component 1 - Investment 1.1)Italy’s Recovery and Resilience Plan includes an investment plan for the 0-6 age group, aimed at increasing the supply of childcare facilities by building, renovating and ensuring the safety of nurseries and preschools, to ensure an increase in the educational offer and the available slots for the 0-6 age group, and thus improve teaching quality.The measure is expected to encourage women’s participation in the labour market and support caregivers in reconciling family and professional life.The investment is financed by Italy’s Recovery and Resilience plan by EUR 3.2 billion.The project concerning the building intended for Kindergarten in via Don Enrico Pocognoni 12 is part of this investment.The completely flat site is located south of the area of residential completion developed outside the perimeter walls of the Old Town, near Hospital ""Enrico Mattei"", served by a good road infrastructure.The project involves the renovation of the oldest part of the current building complex, which is to be demolished and rebuilt: the complex is divided into two buildings connected by a path covered distribution, the northeastern portion dating from the 70s that develops 1 floor above ground object of demolition and reconstruction as no longer meeting the minimum safety requirements, and Southwest portion built in 2005/2006 that develops 2 floors above ground, where currently are carried out teaching activities, not object of intervention.In order to increase the available space, in the framework of an optimization of the outdoor space, the structure was built on two floors connected by two stairs and an elevator.This solution allowed, to equal covered area, a lower land occupation thus allocating more space to the garden.In this context, the current intervention does not increase land consumption, setting itself the objective of achieving a new building as much as possible on the sitting area of the previous.
