Portugal's most advanced optical telescope is now operational

Funded by the RRP, the most advanced optical telescope in Portugal and one of the most advanced in the world has already started operating from Air Base No. 11 (BA11), in Beja.

This equipment allows objects in space to be monitored, whether satellites or space debris.

Thus, it provides information that is useful for national defence and support for satellite manoeuvres.
