The comprehensive renovation within the project will concentrate on the restoration of yet-to-be-restored sections if the castle, encompassing the palace or northern wing, bastion, and inner courtyard. Additionally, the project aims to restore surrounding buildings and implement outdoor landscape and garden arrangements to complement the historical setting.This holistic investment seeks to redefine Turjak Castle, creating a versatile destination that seamlessly combines historical preservation with modern amenities. The provision of cultural, touristic, and accommodation services, coupled with outdoor space enhancements, aligns with the overarching goal of making Turjak Castle an attractive and engaging destination for a diverse range of visitors. The completion of this project is expected to significantly enrich the cultural landscape and enhance the tourism appeal of the region.Financial support for this initiative is provided by the Recovery and Resilience Facility, contributing EUR 8.5 million to a project valued at EUR 10.4 million in total. The unveiling of renovation plans for the castle occurred in 2022, with works scheduled to commence in 2024 and 2025, concluding in June 2026.
